Checked against the app on 25 September 2026

The app books a dividend on its ex-dividend date, for the shares you held the day before, once the daily data refresh has picked it up; opening your Portfolio page runs the same check. It never sees your broker account, so it can't tell whether the cash has arrived — booked in the app and paid into your account are separate events, often weeks apart. Open a holding on Portfolio and its Dividends section lists what has been booked, and on which dates.

Most missing dividends are one of four things. The purchase is dated on or after the ex-date, so the entitlement went to the seller. The ex-date hasn't come yet. The holding is an accumulating fund, which reinvests inside the fund and pays nothing out. Or it's booked but the cash hasn't landed, because the payment date is still ahead. A smaller amount than you expected usually means withholding tax: the app books US dividends before it's taken.

The app can see the first three. Only your broker can see the last.

  1. Find the dividend's ex-date and payment date in the company's announcement, or on Month View.
  2. On Portfolio, click the holding and compare the Date Added of each purchase with the ex-date. Open your holdings →
  3. Look in the holding's Dividends section for an entry dated on the ex-date.
  4. Run your dates through the check below.
  5. If it's booked but not paid, look for it on your broker's statement after the payment date.

Should this dividend be there?

The same entitlement rule the app books dividends with, run on your dates.

Not yours: bought too late

A purchase dated on or after the ex-date (13 August 2026) misses it — it goes to the seller. The app is right not to book it. If the date on your purchase is wrong, correct its Date Added.
